The Midsummer Fish Festival
Penelope's Pitstop was delighted to be cooking at the Midsummer Fish festival at the Stade Open Space in Hastings on 23rd and 24th June. We served up our staple the arepa with a fishy twist, using locally caught grey mullet in an Ecuadorian style coconut sauce. It also gave us the opportunity to show case our fabulous Peruvian style ceviche with popcorn and our prawn coconut coctel from the Pacific coastal region of Colombia. For vegans we introduced an Ecuadorian mango ceviche and for the truly adventurous octopus escabeche.
The weather was hot, the people were lovely and the music was fantastic. Hilights of the weekend include selling Amber Rudd MP a bottle of the Pitstop Pineapple and Pepper Sauce
and the Venezuelan who gave our arepa the thumbs up!
